Japanese Postcard Books Week This postcard book is pretty neat because each postcard continues the image from the last. So if you took out all the postcards and lined them up they would make one long panorama of a street scene. Because I would never rip these out and probably not many other people would either, they printed the same image on the back of the postcard as is on the front in light gray. That way you can see how the story attaches together. I think it’s such a cute idea. It would be really cool to send a postcard from this book every day to the same person and then they would get to connect them as they received them. I’m also fond of the yellow, black and white color scheme in the drawings. It gives me ideas about silkscreening postcard books. The artist is Eri Oguro but googling his name didn’t get me any more information. There is a link to the publisher(?) but it’s all in Japanese. Anyone who has any more info, please share. Update- I have received an email from the artist with more information! yay- I love when that happens. here it is: Dear Sir/Madam, Hello, this is Eri Oguro. I am currently working in the field of books, magazines, advertising, packages etc. as an illustrator and graphic designer. ‘STREET STORY’ was my first memorable original book. This book received a grand prize in the competitiom called ‘Postcard book Award’. I am very honored that it was introduced on such a great website. Afterwards, I have not made any other original books yet, but have been working on bookbinding etc. I would like to keep trying my best to be able to creat great works which can catch your eye. Best regards, ( One of my friend helped me write this e-mail in English as I am not good at English. )
