Jeanne Bendick did a ton of books starting in the 40's and seems to be still working today (she is 88). We have collected about 30 of her books for our kids so far... mostly the home schooling "My First Book Of..." series... She wrote some and illustrated some and did both for some... but her 40's-50's drawing style really blows me away the most and 'the Lollypop Factory' is her crowning achievement in my opinion. By the way, ALSO did a FANTASTIC job on the website! Thank you!!!

Jeanne Bendick really is a master of using line and contrast to move your eye around. And that rough shading is so unpredictable, but it all seems to fit together so well. Great illustrations and lots of candy, who else wants to live in the 50's?

In the olden days, crackers used to walk out of the factory all by themselves!
This looks like a nice book and the cover is great too.
