Book By Its Cover

Harriet Russell

This is part of the very awesome holiday gift I got from my friend Jess. It is in both Italian and English. The introduction reads “All the pictures in this book require very little (or no) colouring - perfect for the lazy child. Just turn the pages (if you have the energy), and you will see…” The book is filled with black and white drawings adorable and funny captions playing on the idea of black and white. Some of my favorites include the drawings of a poodle thinking where his thought bubbles look like his fuzzy coat, a pepper shaker shaking pepper onto a dog whose spots are the same shapes as the pepper flakes, knitted sheep attached to their balls of yarn and the spread of many hairdo’s wondering where their faces are. The illustrations are each so clever and in perfect kid humor. I can just see some kid cracking from these drawings. Plus it is technically still a coloring book so that’s an added bonus. Jess said she purchased this book here. Thanks again Jess!

I bought it for my best friend and she really liked it… Corraini published great books by Bruno Munari and Enzo Mari, they always have been in touch with designer and illustrators all over the world with great and innovative point of view. I really like their catalogue.
