Book By Its Cover

2.23.10
Adam Jaromir, Pawet Pawlak

This German children’s book tells the tale of the first giraffe that came to France. I love how the book is tall and narrow letting the giraffe neck stretch up the pages. The book has a nice old fashioned look to it with sketchy pen and watercolor illustrations and Roman numerals for the page numbers. The author, Adam Jaromir, sent this overseas to me but unfortunately I can’t read any of the story besides this sample on the publishers site. So happy to be sharing a book from this part of the world! Get more info on how to get one right here (or the matching wine set!)

One of the beautiful things about art and picture stories – you don’t necessarily need to know the language to enjoy!

it was a joke since the authors have Polish names!!! Well, I hope you don’t feel offended! The book’s great, BTW!

These covers remind me of the book cover of the ubiquitous The Little Prince. And also that bisaya short film about flowers. This one, too, is like a flower. ANd Trust me, I know about flowers.
