Book By Its Cover

BlexBolex

This strange and brilliant book tells the story of two bank robbing brothers who escape to a community called Abecederia which soon turns into a nightmare. The detective- type story is also an abc book of sorts. Each of the illustrations incorporates the next letter of the alphabet from a to z. The book is printed in a limited palette and really takes advantage of overlapping color in a great way. The illustrations, besides integrating letters, are very nicely designed in a retro style. love the book and your site, minor crticism, the photos used on this website are often a bit ‘lo res’ and underlit, seems a shame when discussing this type of work…

I’ve got two copies of Blexbolex’s LA LONGUE-VUE (to have recto-verso images of each spread) that I intend to dismantle someday and spread them out in a row (on a long piece of plywood?) to admire them all at once. Love his work.
