Book By Its Cover

Nicolas Robel and Christophe Lambert

I was so so excited to find out the Swiss publishers B.ü.L.b comix now has an online shop. Since The Drama store closed it was really hard to find their 2[w] collection (I will post more of those soon- they are so great) and other books and comics they make. So now from their shop you can get it all and pay easily through paypal ( just make sure you have your conversion chart out so you know just how much your spending) and get the books shipped to you all the way from Geneve. I received a whole package of goodies the other day from them including this cool book. It’s an all silkscreened book collaboration between comic artists Nicolas Robel(who is the founder of B.ü.L.b comix) and Christophe Lambert. It’s signed by both artists and part of a numbered edition of only 300. It’s all in French so I can’t read any of the text but the pictures are so bright and fun that I’m ok with getting a friend to translate later. I love how perfectly messy the drawings are with thick crayon-like lines printed over each other. Silkscreens tend to be really tight because of the flatness of the medium but these feel painterly and loose and really energetic. You can pick up this book and lots of awesome other ones here.
ps. B.ü.L.b is also a design studio- check out their really nice design work here. I like pressing the shuffle button.
