Austin English

Austin English’s comic book is about two characters who are unrelated. The book is split into Christina’s story and Charles’s story both narrated by the characters themselves in true teenage voices that bring me back to those silly years when everything I thought was important was actually not important at all. The comic seems to have been drawn completely in crayon adding to that youthfulness. I love that the characters almost always have closed eyes and snake-like arms. There’s also backgrounds of intricate pattern which in crayon would seem impossible. This comic was published by Sparkplug Comic Books and can be ordered directly from their site.

I love these drawings. Especially space. It’s so hard to keep alive that child imagination.
