If you haven’t seen the work of my friend Edie you should pick up a copy of the newest Gaylord Phoenix comic. I think #4 is the best yet and so inexpensive-only $4. It was also nominated by Ignatz for Best Outstanding Minicomic 2006. The cover is silkscreened with great hand-drawn lettering for the title. The interior is two perfect colors. There’s very little text but you follow the queer mythological story through Edie’s playful drawings and awesome paisley patterns. The first three issues tell the beginning of the story but could be hard to find. You can find out where to get them and see Edie’s performances at his website here.
