Book By Its Cover

4.3.08
Will Dinski

Will Dinski sent over a huge package of goodies to me the other day-full of prints and books. I’ll be sharing the rest of them over the next couple of weeks but today I wanted to feature the fourth in his Habitual Entertainment series. I am really amazed by the craftsmanship that went into this hardcover. It looks and feels like a fancy published book but each one of these is handmade by Will himself. The endpages are spectacular- the front is a pattern of the characters in the book and the back is the same pattern of characters but they are missing their noses and screaming. The story is a weird tale of plastic surgery and focuses on a Dr.Fingers and his masterpiece- an actress who he worked his magic on many times to create the almost (he still wants to fix her nose) perfect face. It’s a funny quick read which you should definitely check out. Will sells this book and a ton of others from the shop section of his website. You’ll notice he does a lot of experimentation with format of his work from tiny hand sewn booklets to huge poster comics- everything constructed by him- pretty impressive. Thanks so much Will!

Will’s stuff is great. You can tell a lot of care is put into every piece. I love the different formats each of his pieces are created in.
