Book By Its Cover

Cory Godbey

This wordless book follows a little girl on her adventures through a beautiful fantasy land. Cory Godbey, the artist, did such nice atmospheric environments made of washes, splatters, and blotchy drying of the paint. The sky in all of these images are my favorite part. I keep getting reminded of that new book Waves where the water is drawn in a similar way. Cory is part of Portland Studios where you can purchase this lovely book. Also be sure to check out his blog where he shows sketches to final work.

These are gorgeous illustrations. I’ve also seen “Waves” – I love the simplicity and freshness of the illustrations.

Stunning work.
I am creating several story books at the moment for my H.S.C in D&T.
Your work is very inspirational. Any tips or pointers you could share would be much appreciated.
