Mike Lowery, remember the sketchbooks he shared that you all loved so much, has sent over a self-published (Mike is looking for a publisher! hint anyone?) collection of his comics called Winter Beard. The comics star two adorable bunny characters, Colin and Claire and are simply the conversations they share. What do two cute bunnies in party hats or hooded sweatshirts talk about? They discuss forming a band, play games like “font quiz”, and talk about who their first crush was. These simple but intimate little conversations remind me of chatting with my best friend to entertain ourselves. Mike’s ink drawings are mostly printed in black and white and then one story has a fun unexpected bright pop of red. Mike hand writes all the text and I love his handwriting which is a great mix of print and script. This book makes you feel warm and fuzzy all over like good bunny should. See more of Mike here.
