Book By Its Cover

4.2.10
Andrew Gibbs

Speaking of blogs becoming books, here’s another one! The Dieline, a fantastic site about package design that I regularly read, has a new book combining the best stuff from the site. The Dieline site covers a range of great package designs for food to cleaning products, to regular everyday items. I especially love the “Before & After” posts that compare the old packaging to the new updated look. I also like that you can rate the design and see what score other readers gave it. The book is Dieline author Andrew Gibbs top favorites in package design broken down into a range of styles for each chapter like “luxe” or “bold” or “nostalgic”- (nostalgic being my hands down favorite chapter filled with tons of fun retro illustrations). I am such a sucker for well designed packaging. I don’t buy the Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap, dish soap or any other product of theirs I can find, because I think it works the best. ha! If you love package design as much as me, check out this new book here and The Dieline site here.

Thank you! Dieline is just a great source of inspiration- even if you’re not a packaging designer!
