Book By Its Cover

Minä Perhonen

I stopped into the Japanese bookstore Kinokuniya on my way home from a meeting the other day and I could not resist this book. It’s fashion/textile brand Minä Perhonen’s third book in a small series of their work- this one is of printed textile designs. (I think the other ones were embroidery and textiles-the more tactile textured kind) All I can do is sigh as I turn each page- I feel like I could describe these designs as relaxing. They are calm and soothing and the colors are subtle. I especially like the ones that look like they were drawn with a fat crayon. Check out more of their work here and get this book here.

I love the simplicity of the cover. It’s a tease for what’s inside…

This looks fabulous! Thanks for the tip on that bookstore btw- I was in NYC recently and went there. I left with a smaller wallet, but I loved every minute.
