Book By Its Cover

I’ve been thinking a lot about wallpaper these days- yup, there’s a project in the works. So I’ve looked to this great book as inspiration. It’s so funny how wallpaper has become so popular in the last few years. I’ve seen so many experimental papers- from scratch and sniff papers to magnetic paper, even wallpaper of bookshelves. What will be next? This book has a lot of the best stuff that’s out there right now- beautiful papers from Nama Rococo to psychedelic papers from Basso & Brooke. Also in the book there’s Dan Funderburgh, Hanna Werning and my personal favorite- Lizzie Allen (if only I wasn’t renting). If you’re as into this wallpaper trend as I am, this is the book to have. Pick up a copy here.

Ooooh, beautiful! I’d love to put Lizzie Allen’s “London City Gents” in a kid’s room.

O.k., you REALLY just made my day and read my mind. I’m teaching a pattern project in my Design class and this is EXACTLY what I need. I just ordered it for my College library and for myself.

If you come across any other edgy pattern related books please let me (or us) know. I noticed Amazon recommended a few when I followed the link but I prefer an artist’s recommendation to a computers!

Thanks!

Jym- Here’s a post from a while ago I did about my collection of pattern books.

Also I have yet to review these two fairly new books but they are also really good–
Patterns- Drusilla Cole
Wallpaper- Lachlan Blackley

awesome. thanks again. I went ahead and ordered Patterns and Wallpaper as well. Your other post is great…the soviet wallpaper in particular.

You have probably come across this before but it is also an interest reference….

User uploaded pattern designs in a contest form. I’ve never to overwhelmingly impressed but there are some good designs. I noticed Dan Funderburgh has uploaded some nice stuff.
