This book is a companion to the exhibition of drawings and graphic designs of Ed Fella and Geoff McFetridge at REDCAT. I’m such a fan of Geoff’s work which I’ve posted about before here. I haven’t seen much of Ed Fella’s work before this book but it’s also a treat and a nice contrast to Geoff’s work. Ed’s work feels dirty and gritty compared to Geoff’s- lots of scratchy surreal drawings with text hidden inside the forms. While Geoff’s palettes are clean and limited, Ed’s are a rainbow of shades in blending pastels and charcoal. I haven’t had a chance to read the interview between the two artists in the back of the book which I’m looking forward to. You can get this book here. |
