Book By Its Cover

Un Sedicesimo is a magazine series- always sixteen pages staple bound and the same size. But each issue is made by a different author- could be an artist, graphic designer, illustrator, student, writer, or even a cook. “Un Sedicesimo will be a magazine different at each time, from the headline to the colophon. It will become a sort of gallery on paper, which proposes a new personal exhibition every two months, six times a year.” This issue is a project by German designer/illustrator Rosa Linke and opens in handwritten capital letters “We have to find a measure for today.” The inside contains a series of interesting handdrawn scientific seeming diagrams. The back cover of the book explains what feelings some of those diagrams represent. Some of them are really very beautiful. I really like the idea of trying to create infographics of more abstract ideas and feelings. I think my “measure for today” diagram would looks something like a series of straight lines getting more and more crooked because I am feeling like I am losing order today. You? See more of Rosa’s work here. Pick up this or other issues of Un Sedicesimo here. I look forward to seeing more issues! Thanks Rosa!

I agree, this work impressed me for the magic closed into simplicity.
