review by Nikalas Catlow

Taking inspiration from miscellanies and retro encyclopedias Visual Aid is a book about “stuff you’ve forgotten, things you never thought you knew, and lessons you didn’t quite get around to learning”. Each page is a rather simple and clear diagram or visual representation of miscellaneous facts and figures such as fictional space crafts, how fish breathe, flags of the world and Nineteenth century industry. All represented in bold retro graphics that could easily make nice screen printed posters and hung on your wall.

*a note from Julia: I’ll be at Mel Kadel’s opening of her show Sun Days later today and you should be too. Looks like it’s going to be totally amazing!
