Brooklyn Comics & Graphics Festival

I checked out the Brooklyn Comics and Graphics festival this past weekend for the first time. What an amazing event! It is similar to MoCCA, except much better curated with all of the very best non-superhero stuff. It was a bit overwhelming to like everything. Silkscreened posters lined the walls. Tables were set up in a circular shape with comic publishers and independent artists selling their goods. They also had lectures and Q+As. The event was very star-studded. While walking through the crowd you might have brushed shoulders with Gary Panter or Anders Nilsen. A huge handful of artists were signing books throughout the day. Here are some pictures from the event:

left Jordan Crane signing Uptight, right Vanessa Davis signing Make Me A Woman

left Lizz Hickey selling large prints- I bought one- an etching!, right Charles Burns signing Black Hole

left Kim Deitch, right Caroline Hwang

left the always smiling Lynda Barry, right Renee French
