The black books you referred to (in the long room with the white books on the other side) were by On Kawara. It is a trilogy called I MET, I WENT and I GOT UP.

Also, thank you so much for talking about the fair before it happened. I went partly because of your suggestion and enjoyed it immensely. What a great way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon!
