Once upon a time….

there was a lonely freckle-faced girl who looked out of her rain splattered window, and willed a rainbow to appear.

…there was an inquisitive girl.

Ack ok this is continuing from Golriz’s comment:

She wanted to hold the rainbow in the palm of her hand, but she had willed the rainbow too far away.

An inquisitive girl waiting in the window for somebody. The people running in the street. The cars passing by slowly. And inside, a cat waiting next the chimney.

and suddenly, the cat jumped outside and slided towards the rainbow!

since there is always two rainbows when there is one in the sky, the cat disappeared

In a flash, the inquisite girl left her spot by the window and scrambled after the cat into the double rainbow.

But in its place stood a small collection of superiorly intelligent ants, and they began to walk in a pretty formation along the path.

But this was no ordinary pretty formation along the path- no, these ants were marching upon a combination of little musical pebbles, impressed upon the pavement by the doubled rainbow.

This latticework of tiny marching creatures pulled her along and down (smaller and leggier and lighter as she went), sweeping her into their relentless trek.

Suddenly a large cloud enveloped the ants and the girl sweeping them into a giant cloud city with cotton candy trees.

A gust of sweet smelling wind carried the girl off the back of one of the large ants that was carrying her, and she found herself being swept away by the strange breeze.

providing a sweet respite from a fall,
they filled their tummies till evening came, hollowing out candy caves & taking shelter from rain.

They all fell into a sugar coma.

But, alas, their tummies began to toil in pain, if only they had refrained from stuffing their bodies with cotton candy from feet to brain.

The breeze carried the girl and the ant over endless oceans. After many hours adrift, the girl accidentally tumbled off the ant’s slippery back and slipped down below into great blue sea. She landed right in the middle of a jellyfish tea party.

Unfortunately, since jelly fish have only one bodily orifice that they use for everything, it was not a very polite tea party. So the girl swam a little deeper to find more pleasant company…

After that, on the never-ending deserted beach, silence would linger forever.

A polite yellow dolphin informed her of a treasure that was hidden in the beach.

The dolphin told her that the treasure was hidden beneath the home of a sea cucumber, and in order to partake in this treasure, she must befriend the sea cucumber; this proved to be difficult, as sea cucumbers really have no means of communication.

The girl was relieved when the eery silence was finally broken by a few loud thuds (THUD!THUD!THUD!) behind her.

While she was considering how to communicate with teh sea cucumber a boat arrived carrying her beloved friend, the cat, who walked up to the sea cucumber and…

sneezed!

“Oh, I’m sorry,” the cat said, “I think I’m allergic to sea cucumbers. (And apparently I can sneeze underwater?)”

…ate the sea cucumber in one gulp. Smacking his lips he turned and…

belched out seafoam green snowflakes that swirled above their heads, and began to blanket the beach in a downy puff.

Looking up, the girl and the cat could see small speaks of light glisten through, and day become night.

They wandered together through the blue sky night, and the stars above reflected back all of the light they held inside.

Hey, is that cassiopeia up there? the cat said.

After walking along the beach for a while they felt how tired they were. The girl picked up the cat and he fell asleep at once.

…the girl on the other hand couldn’t decide where to rest her tired body, she had a strange feeling something was watching her all along…

As she lay back and idly gazed again at the stars, she noticed something odd about Cassiopeia.

Cassiopeia only had one ear…

… and was emitting a sweet pink glow across the night sky. It reminded her of cotton candy.

Hearing a noise behind her, she jumped to her feet and turned around.

…Three star thieves were dragging cassiopeia’s ear through the sand, spilling the star’s stories all along the shoreline…

…Realizing that the shoreline was shaped like the lace collar of his aunt who passed away last summer…

The receding tide had left pockets of sand, dimples and mounds in a pattern that was only discernable as lace from hundresd of feet away.

She gave chase.

Not realizing that her shadow stood still, fully enchanted by the sounds of the ocean’s wailing.

There was a boat waiting for the thieves, that parted with them and the stars as soon as they were all aboard.

Alarmingly, the thieves didn’t realize what else was aboard that ship – a sharp-toothed hetchpas, the evil ancient feline devil!

The hetchpas kept herself silently hidden- her sleek black velvet fur helped her blend in with the shadows- and she sang bohemian folk melodies to herself while she waited patiently for the thieves to turn down the wrong corner.

Which they did.

Suddenly a strident sound was heard and that corner seemed to be the end…

… of a beautiful night, because of her neighbor, so she decided to…

…gather up fist-fulls of midnight black hair from out of the corner of the boat. The inquisitive girl began stuffing the car fur into her open mouth until she had swallowed up his whole soul. She immediately felt shifty and devious but…

she didn’t feel too guilty, and she tried to curl up in the corner and sleep.

…wondered whether it was her own nature or the spirit of the hetchpas within her that was compelling her to clentch a machette between her teeth and climb above the rainbows into the heavens. Suddenly she seized, clutching her stomach and…

…making a loud noise. She lifted her dress and realized that cottom candy was coming out of her belly button. She was so scared that…

…it would never stop. She pulled it and pullet it and pulled the pink soft cotton candy and found herself beeing envolved by it like a cocoon, she felt so…

… Exasperated as if the world around her was collapsing into a…

…webby sea of spun sugar belly button greatness.

Yet, being a girl without fear, she gathered the cotton candy into great piles, set her head upon the treacly pillow, and slept.

And it was a wonderful, restful sleep — the cool, sweet sleep of angels, the sleep of smart girls, who always get the math problems right.

She dreamt until she woke the next morning, woozy as if she’s hungover from the dream; although as a perfectly good little girl who has not tasted a drop alcohol before, she doesn’t yet know this feeling yet.

Her sleepiness quickly fell off her as she realized that today was the day that…

the teddy bears had their picnic. She ate a big fat..

honey-tahini dipped light green cucumber which induced her to sleep and continue her reveries, until . . .

a storm came and the yeti arrived from the mountains and whispered in her ear…

“Wake up, my dear. It’s time to go. Draw your way to get to the sky”. She woke up and found everything so white that she couldn’t resist and started to draw…

From the pencil came a line which quickly became a plaid winged pony who pawed impatiently as her hind legs were completed. Hurry, I’m hungry! Please draw some tender young shoots!

she pointed a green pencil on paper and was ready to “grew some grass”, but the pencil had other plans

It flew from her hands, high up in the air like a silky feather, and then it came to earth suddenly and urgently, rolled over and over again, down a small grey hill and landing with a gentle thud in at the edge of the riverbank.

The girl looked back at the empty outline of a horse, and asked if instead he would like some bright red apples.

She knew that bright red apples were the key to the soul.

And turning back to the white that was all around them, she used her untrimmed nails to tear apple shaped circles into the air around them.

the apples fell and grow and grow until suddenly she was stood in front of a giant red fluffy monster.

“Hello!” the red fluffy monster bellowed out of his toothsome mouth – “and howdy and hi!”

The girl took a deep breath and smiled, picked up one of the red apples and offered it to the red fluffy monster.

who took out a red, monster-sized wallet and said, “Thanks, how much do I owe you for that apple?”

She smiled in a beautiful way and said “This is a gift! A gift because today is… is the International Day of Meeting a Great Red Fluffy Monster!”

…but as soon as she said that, the red fluffy monster…

… started crying ….

“you know” she said, ” Even Red Fluffy Monster deserve kind things. Monsters get such a bad wrap. One movie portrays them as evil and all of a sudden all monsters are in the dumps.” And she reached out…

… grabbed her pencil from the edge of the river and drew rainbows sprouting from the crying monster’s tears.

The monster drew big and fluffy clouds, in the shape of….

fat pony, mounted the pony and rode towards mountains.

Then it was time for a grilled cheese sandwich with some chocolate milk.

This made her belly ache and her head spin, she didn’t question anything she went right to bed.

She woke, and while groggily looking around, she discovered she was floating on a fluffy, marshmallow white cloud, high above the earth. She stood up and…

then quickly sat down again while peeking over the edge of the cloud…

and held his hand.

They were friends.

She cooed and felt small, yet safe with him.

Sabrina walked into the looking glass meeting the most awesomely fascinating person she’d ever encountered—herself.

so safe that, in fact, that she reclined back into his fluff, closed her eyes, and sunbathed.

She had the new found confidence of a young child riding tall on the shoulders of their stoic yet gentle father.

The afternoon came fast and soon the shadows were lengthening.

Unfortunately, she got burned to a crisp.

The embers glowed softly into the night.

…the nightmares came back, with the dull roar of a distant motor…

She woke up, certain she was still being chased by the train robbers in her dream.

The windows in her room glared with the light of street lamps and dawn sun.

Rather, it was her darling cat. He curled himself next to her, protectively.

The cat purred quietly and fell asleep as the girl gazed out the window.

The sun came up, warming her face, and the little girl stretched out her arms high into the air, wondering, what would happen today.

She decided to go down to the kitchen and start the day with a glorious full English breakfast!

But she did not want to eat alone so she called out to a snail and a rabbit in her garden, and they rushed in to share her meal…

The three dined contently on crumpets and jam while talking excitedly about the day ahead and their new formed friendship.

“First of all: do you mind if I wrap everything around here with my silver slime?” asked the snail “My digestion is a little laborious, but you may like sliding down the banisters in a flash, or playing skittles without making noise, or even entering the neck of a bottle…”

The girl readily agreed that a slimy silvered snail patina would improve the decor; however, the rabbit shuddered & interrupted, “…

What?! no cake?” It’s never any good without cake. He stood, turned around and hopped out , shaking his head and his fluffy tail. He sadly didn’t realise that he inadvertently…

hopped onto the cake, it’s sticky pink frosting flying this way and that…

and that sticky pink frosting suddenly start to fly all over the room like a big alive bubblegum, turning everything pink! even they’re eyes were pink!! it was the most weird and pretty thing they ever seen…
