I’m not usually a big photography fan but every once in a while I find something that really strikes me, like this book from French photographer Cedric Delsaux. His photographs are truly beautiful but also very haunting. The book is described as “An artful photographic voyage documenting the impact of modern industry and consumerism on our planet.” There are photos of construction sites, suburban housing developments, compacted garbage, ski slopes and abandoned schools among other lonely landscapes. The palettes seem all muted in gray just enough to feel like a dream. The book is pretty big so seeing that I could never afford to buy one of his photos (I love these that much, that I looked into it), I’ve considered slicing out a page with an exacto to frame.
