I am holding in my hands the highly anticipated, hot off the press Beasts! Book 2. It’s the sequel to the popular Beasts! which was reviewed on this site by Ray Fenwick here. This volume has ninety new artists that weren’t in the last book. Each artist gets a page, or spread, to make a visual depiction of a beast that was thought to have existed in history. I was really excited to see some of my favorite artists in this volume such as Matt Leines interpreting the Tarasque, Lilli Carre, the Tikbalang, Ray Fenwick, the Shaitan, and Julie Morstad, the Selkie. Opposite the drawings are the descriptions of the beasts so you read what each artist was inspired by.
