Cafe Royal

Anything with Camilla Engman’s work in it is a definite purchase for me. This is part of Cafe Royal’s volume three, a three booklet set. Camilla did the cover and a few gorgeous collage/drawing spreads on the interior. She shares the rest of the full color interior with work from superstar Gary Baseman, funny artist Mark Todd, 1911 and Cafe Royal founder Craig Atkinson. When the box came, I noticed this book is made through Lulu (correct me if I’m wrong). I am impressed with how nice it looks. Sorry Blurb but I think you’re out. Get yours here.

We tried them this time because it’s a less risky way of printing colour without having to re-mortgage! The results we were fairly pleased with. However, as a warning for potential POD users, they seem to out-source their printing, so each batch is very slightly different. I guess to the normal person this doesn’t matter, but our eyes are fairly keen, especailly as it’s our stuff, so we’re looking / might have found an alternative! So the next issue won’t be print-on-demand and will be a lot more consistent. That said, we are happy with issue three and hope people continue to buy and enjoy it! Thanks for the post…Craig
