We tried them this time because it's a less risky way of printing colour without having to re-mortgage! The results we were fairly pleased with. However, as a warning for potential POD users, they seem to out-source their printing, so each batch is very slightly different. I guess to the normal person this doesn't matter, but our eyes are fairly keen, especailly as it's our stuff, so we're looking / might have found an alternative! So the next issue won't be print-on-demand and will be a lot more consistent. That said, we are happy with issue three and hope people continue to buy and enjoy it!
