Book By Its Cover

André Lemos

I got a package from Portuguese artist André Lemos telling me about his small publishing company Opuntia Books. He mainly focuses on publishing limited edition, one time only, artist’s book and zines. So far they’ve published 10 books, all handmade and numbered by André. André sent me three of these publications and the one I liked the best happened to be one of his own work. The cover has a drawing of some sort of muscle with thread actually sewn into it. The inside is color reproductions of André’s very strange drawings. You can learn more about this book and all the other books he’s published right here.

This is truly worth checking. I like that thread on the cover.

I like this… it looks really surreal and darkly quirky… I just wish you would have posted better photos so we could see a whole illustration! I’d be interested to see the other two books you got as well.
