Yesterday a package came from Spain with a whole bunch of stunning little books. They were sent from the publisher SD Edicions who also published K which I wrote about a long while back. Out of the little pile of books they sent, this one really struck my eye. It’s an illustrated poem by Roberta Gorni. I love her drawings which she created with loose pencil lines and blotches of color, mostly red. The images have so much emotion and even while the text in in Spanish, I feel like I am getting a good sense of the mood she is portraying- sad and lonely… which seems about accurate to how I feel during winter.
