Book By Its Cover

6.15.10
Anouck Boisrobert and Louis Rigaud

I was excited to finally get my hands on this book and test it out. As you turn each page you are building a pop-up city. It starts centered around a little red house and gradually with each page turn more house, roads, trees, and buildings pop up around it. The last spread folds out on both sides revealing a big city even equipped with power lines made of string. The book reminds me of a prettier version of one of my all time favorite video games: SimCity. Kids will love this book, but so will you! There’s a cute video showing off the book here

Just a little detail : the little red house at the beginning is not a house but a church.
It’s a beautiful book, but also a sad book.
