Book By Its Cover

7.31.09

Today I am so happy to share the “visual diary” of South African artist/designer Rohan Etsebeth. Rohan is part of a newly launched design agency called Fanakalo which already has an impressive portfolio of work, including a very beautiful papercut cd package design which you should check out. His sketchbook shows off both his talent for rendering and his great sense of design. I am especially fond of those patterned endpages. Regarding his style Rohan says, “I just love expressionistic linework. Egon Schiele is probably the artist whose linework inspired me most when I was growing up.” Check out all his work here. Thanks to Rohan!

His line work is amazing. I particularly like the spread with the man and the pink faces and animals in the background. Such detail!

My favourite has to be the last one with the two pages filled with a mural like drawing. Absolutely stunning.
