Book By Its Cover

Rowan Tedge

I am a big fan of really obsessive detailed crazy drawings no matter what the subject matter- in this case it’s weird monstery things. This little book of drawings is really fun to look at- there’s just so much going on filling every last white space on the paper. Some of it almost makes patterns. I start to wonder about the Australian artist, Rowan Tedge, when I look through his work- where did he come up with all these insane looking characters doing such a variety of wild things? Check out his site to learn more and get your own copy- an edition of 100.

very cool Julia, his style is so great. I love the line quality and the areas of solid black are perfection.

Here’s a cool quote for you:
“There’s a strange disease in people’s minds which makes them imagine themselves as arbiters of beauty, and creates a constant and foolish demand that pictures be all “pretty”. As if Shakespeare had always gone around writing love sonnets.”
-George BEllows (1882-1925)
