This morning I spilled milk into my keyboard. That’s what you get when you want to read the virtual paper with your breakfast. So I am a little late posting today since I had to go face the sleet and hail and get to the nearest Apple store for a new one. Anyway…
Street Artist’s Week
This book is a little older (©2002), and is probably slightly outdated- meaning there’s probably a lot of new artists doing stencil work. It’s still a great collection of work though with features on artists from around the globe like Bansky, Miss-Tic, and Dave Kinsey. There’s also sections devoted to a common theme like protest, cult heros and animals. Some of the stencils in the book are so detailed, it’s amazing. Some even have more than one layer of color. I love the designs that are at a realistic scale- especially the ones of figures which would definitely make you look twice walking by them. There’s something really unique and beautiful about the subtle thickness in paint variations you get with spray paint especially on a textured wall. This book is also by author Tristan Manco– he was the author of Monday’s book. You can get a copy of this book here.
