Book By Its Cover

Amy Cutler

This is Amy Cutler’s second monograph. The first I posted about a while back here is now very hard to find. Her work features women almost exclusively, in a range of surreal activities: fixing tiger stripes, riding elephants atop stilts, holding their own heads. It’s all delicately drawn or painted or etched with the feeling of an old children’s book. I was excited to find they had signed copies of this book at Spoonbill & Sugartown in Williamsburg, Brooklyn from a recent event. Otherwise you can pick up a copy here.

Ooo! I saw one image from Turtle Fur in Harper’s recently and was enchanted. It’s lovely to see more.
