Book By Its Cover

I picked this book up at the NY Art Book Fair. I was attracted to the small scale, interesting format and all the beautiful tree silhouettes. The book comes in a box no bigger than what would normally hold a deck of cards. It has a do-si-do structure, as if it is two books that share a common back cover. There are ties to keep it closed on either side. Both sides tell the same wordless story of a woman who drips color into the trees and onto the ground. She takes the drips from the ground and picks them up as if they were a limp empty balloon. By blowing them up she floats again into the air, only to be shot down by another woman hunter. The imagery is magical and brings to mind artists Marcel Dzama and Amy Cutler. The book is from Danish artist Vibe Bredahl and published by Hurricane.
