I’m not sure if anyone has noticed but we’ve had a lot of technical difficulties over the last few days. Some kind of errors on the hosts servers. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the site will be up for good now. I was on hold listening to elevator music too many hours this weekend. Artist, illustrator Nate Williams has clients like Converse, New York Times, and Pearl Jam. I love these shoes he designed for String Republic. His work is so fun and unique with blocky big shapes and then tons of texture and pattern mixed into them. He also adds amazing hand-lettering into his pieces. He collaborated with the German based publishers Bongoût to produce this beautiful all hand-silkscreened book. The book is a nice size- square, 9.75″ on each side and hand bound with thread. I can’t even tell how many colors are used because each page has a different color combination. I am so glad to have recently found out about Bongoût (my friend Cailtin told me about it after seeing it on the Fantagraphics blog). They seem to make some amazing stuff with all different artists from all over the world. I want every one of their books and every issue of their visual art journal Mollusk. And they make it so easy for anyone anywhere to buy them with a paypal store. Browse their shop here but be careful or you’ll wind up spending all your monthly allowance like I did. (I’ll post about my other purchases from them sometime later) To learn more about Nate Williams work, check out his site here. He also has a blog and shop where you can get silkscreen prints.
