Book By Its Cover

Ward Zwart

I’m going to spend the day with my sister today who studies all sorts of primates in Uganda so I wanted to post about this book for her. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again- this guy can draw! Here’s another little handmade book from Ward Zwart with beautifully rendered monkeys. The book is actually just one page but it’s cut and folded in a series of interesting ways that make you have to turn it upside down or unfold in peculiar ways. This little book, edition of 50, is actually sold out on Ward’s site but he has a ton of other stuff including some new works you learn about here.

These are great. As a young kid, I wanted to work with primates. I learned all about them, and even started learning sign language and about the evolution of language as prep. Anyway, I’m still very interested in the subject, so, yes, great to see these.

I’m working on a few new zines, one group zine that should be available in 2 weeks… and a huge ‘A3 size’ zine
