This is a full color book of drawings by artist Julia Pott. It seems to have been bound by getting run through a sewing machine. I really like her pencil line drawings. Thr proportions of the characters are so interesting- a big head might have a tiny face, a thick arm ends with a teeny-tiny hand. She also collages drawings into photos replacing heads with drawn heads which is fun and comical. Thanks Cafe Royal for introducing me to yet another great new artist. This book must have just sold out on their site but there is another one by Julia that looks equally as good which you can get here or check out her site for a lot more samples of work. And you MUST watch this beautiful animation she did called My First Crush where animals (with human voices) remember moments of having first crushes. It’s so awesome to see her characters come to life and I love the transitions she uses and the stories that are told. It’s not to be missed! (I must have just watched it eight times already.)
