I have a feeling my readership will double with this post. That’s what happened the day I posted this book. Everyone is googling dirty pictures. Ok perverts, you can go now, this is not a book for you. Yes, it does have penises and vaginas in the act of penetration, anal and oral sex, but look how beautiful and well crafted these pop-ups are. I mean that’s what the readers of my blog are noticing right? I love the circle shaped boobs with perfect matching circle nipples and how clever the turning of some of the pages involves you in “the act”. Each new spread makes you laugh but after that you notice the simple shapes they used and how pretty they have made the most explicit actions. This book is all handmade in pink and white cardstock by Sometime Book’s Michele Chun and Miya Saito. I can’t imagine the work that went into making an edition of 25 of these. They had to hand-cut and fold all the shapes not to mention the beautiful silkscreen cover. They have some images on flickr showing the making of the books. I love seeing the test folds and sketches.
