Book By Its Cover

2.12.08
Mike Perry

Mike Perry, who I recently interviewed about his book Hand Job, has sent over a new zine he’s made. The zine is cleverly stitched together- looks like he just ran the piles of pages through the sewing machine to bind them. The cover and endpages are awesome painted patterns in full color. The interior is a mix of of black and white and full color illustrations, hand drawn type and patterns on colored paper. Mike sort of covers all the bases with his approach. It could be classified as design, type design, illustration, or comics- his unique style crosses all the borders in a great way. You get a taste of all his talents in this zine which you can pick up right here. It’s a limited edition of only 100 so act fast. Also he’s updated his site with new work so make sure you check that out here (I love those Dwell Rock and Roll logos-so funny and the work for the Feeling it Out show is soo nice) Thanks Mike!
