Book By Its Cover

I’m sure many of you are fans of the amazing blog BibliOdyssey where author/curator Peacay shows us his amazing finds from the library’s and institution’s internet archives. For over a couple years now he has been displaying and writing about these obscure images- everything from 1690 medical illustrations to images of Arabic calligraphy animals. Each post is more interesting than the next. I’m telling you now- if you haven’t seen this site yet it is not to be missed and is super addicting. I am always amazed at Peacay’s commentary on these images- he gathers so much history on each one. In an article for Edutopia Peacay says- “What you see in a single post may have taken days, and sometimes months, to collect, research, write, and edit. For every hour of work in producing a post, there have probably been ten hours of not-quite-fruitless searching, reading, and editing.”- Talk about dedication! Now there is a really nice book of some of his best posts. There’s big images, Peacay’s narrations and the link to find out more. I like having this paper version of site which you can buy right here.
