Book By Its Cover

1.15.10

So happy it’s Friday! Unfortunately I didn’t line up a sketchbook this week so instead I wanted to share this awesome flip book video that’s been popping up on some design blogs. I love the idea of bridging books with animation. Watch the video right here.

Also, I will be one of the many judges in the upcoming Art Directors Club 89th Annual Awards. I wanted to spread the word about the competition and let you know there’s still time to enter. I know many of you who read this blog happen to be great talents so here’s another way to show it off.

Here’s three good reasons to enter according to the ADC:

1) You’ll be competing against tens of thousands of entries, representing the best work in the world, and be judged by some of the most creative minds on the planet, led by jury chairs Luis Miguel Messianu, president/CCO, AlmaDDB; Chris Campbell, ECD, Interbrand; Dave Bedwood, creative partner, Lean Mean Fighting Machine; Rob Reilly, partner/co-ECD, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, and Karen Welman, creative partner, Pearlfisher)

2) Because for the first time we’re hosting a special two-night Festival at the all-new SVA Visual Arts Theater in New York. Top winners will get the chance to exhibit their work in the ADC’s own spacious gallery where they may invite clients, recruits and VIPs to attend a private event one night.

3) Because ADC is a self-funded, not-for-profit global member organization for a broad range of creatives around the world. We’re not in it to get rich: all our fees go right back into club programming, including networking events, educational programs, scholarships, professional and student portfolio reviews and high school workshops in support of our mission to “Connect, Provoke and Elevate” creative professionals. We are the original member member club for global creatives, and the inspiration for other creative organizations that exist today.

You can learn more about entering and deadlines right here.
