Matt Leines- The Righteous Age

So tomorrow night is the opening of Matt Leines solo show at Clementine gallery. I just wanted to do a tiny post letting people know since Matt is not only one of my good friends but also has shared his sketchbooks and been a guest blogger here on the site. This show is going to be spectacular. I was at the gallery last night where he was still putting final touches on an enormous installation of a boat with his bearded men in it. (I helped paint some waves on wood for around the boat.) Basically the drawing I have put on the homepage will come to life and be human-scale. And that’s just one of the enormous pieces. This is going to be such a great show and I am continually impressed with his work. If you’re in the NYC area you should come by and check it out. The entire block is having their openings too so there will be plenty worth pulling your snow boots on for. Here’s the info:

I love Matt Leines work! I tried to attend the opening last night but the gallery was closed! The postcard says opening ‘Thurs Feb 21 6-8pm’. Bummer! But I’ll definitely see it—some fine winter day. Love your blog, by the way.
