Book By Its Cover

Girls Who Draw

This little postcard book was put together by an international group of female illustrators who call themselves Girls Who Draw. I can’t say I like all the artist’s work in this book- there’s some stuff that’s way to cutesy girly for me. But I am really enjoying Gemma Correll’s work which has quirky characters in strange situations. Her work reminds me of a mix of Susie Ghahremani and Julia Pott. If their characters had a baby, it would look like one of Gemma’s characters- in a good way. You can use the postcards to mail a note or keep them as a little collection of artwork. You can buy one right here.

i love gemma’s work. but i must say, she has an entirely original style- i wouldn’t say it was that similar to julia pott’s or susie’s!

Zoe- that was meant as a compliment to Gemma since I love both Susie and Julia’s work and Gemma’s work reminds me of it.
