Book By Its Cover

Nina Chakrabarti

I totally fell in love with this book when I saw it on Oh Joy! and knew I had to get a copy. Part coloring book and part activity, the illustrations in this book are so fabulous- I can’t imagine anyone wanting to get out the crayons. Instead I admire illustrator Nina Chakrabarti’s line work which wavers between elaborate patterning and simpler graphics. My favorite page asks you to color in nail art. Other pages invite you to finish drawing the afro she started, embellish a vest or find the matching pair of cowboy boots from the bunch. This book is for fashionistas of all ages too, so get a copy right here

I love the idea of a the illustration/coloring book. It offers some really stimulating prompts. I also love the collaborative element – kind of art 2.0. I would love to see some of the results altogether in a single collection.
