Book By Its Cover

8.1.07
Claire Nouvian

This book is full of photographs of aliens. Well, they really look like aliens- except they exist here, living deep in the ocean. Some of their beautiful bodies are translucent and glowing or made of millions of tiny tentacles. Others look like something you would see in a monster movie, with pointy teeth and bulging eyes. They are all set against black backgrounds that silhouette their interesting forms. Apparently some of these species have never been photographed before. The book is big and thick and very glossy. It’s the kind of book you want to show everyone because you want to see their facial reactions as they turn the pages. You can get a sneak peek inside this book on the site here where you can also purchase a copy.

Nice one. Reminds me of Guido Mocafico’s work : http://www.steidlville.com/books/395-Medusa.html

I’m imagining these creatures in motion on the printed page with Sigur Ros playing lightly behind them. I love it.
