I’ve just returned from a super trip to San Francisco. You can see pictures from my show here, here or here. While in SF my Also partners and I met with Chronicle Books about some future project ideas (!). During the tour I asked if I could take a few pictures of the offices. I thought it would be fun to see a little behind the scenes of a publishing house. When you first walk in you enter into their bookshop which has a great variety of their recent titles for sale to the public. The building is big, spacious and industrial looking. I love the exposed brick, concrete floors and areas where you can look up or down to see different floor levels. The office is like most offices- lots of people busy at their desks– except people’s desks are full of all the exciting projects they are working on. Books and more books fill the shelves above their heads. Also Chronicle has a fantastic stationery department and works with some of my favorite illustrators on really unique projects. I took home a couple of their brand new products- a boxed set of letter writing paper and matching envelopes from Grady McFerrin and an adorable perpetual calendar from Sukie. Here’s some images from my tour– |
