I am so taken with every new piece Lauren posts to her Drawing a Day blog. Every weekday she posts a new gorgeous delicate drawing- sometimes perfectly realistically rendered, other times a more stylized line drawing- but always something I wouldn’t mind hanging in my house to look at constantly. It’s really nice when she fully renders only one section on a drawing and then continues just the line to guide us to what else in on the page. I am also in love with Lauren’s Collectors series. She has researched people who have collected things over the years and drawn their portraits and their collections growing out of their heads- shoes, shells, gems. Lauren works as freelance illustrator and her work can mostly be seen on the covers of books which you can check out on her site here. Lauren says there will be prints in the near future (I’m hoping for the Collectors!) so check back to her site in the coming months for those. Oh and Lauren’s is the wife of Isaac Tobin who was the very first sketchbook contributor to this series- such a talented couple. Enjoy these sketchbook pages:
